ClipSync is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your data belongs to you, and we've built ClipSync to ensure your clipboard content stays private and secure.

Data Collection

What We DON'T Collect

• Clipboard Content: Your clipboard data never leaves your local network. We do not have access to, store, or transmit your clipboard content to any external servers.
• Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information during normal app usage.
• Usage Analytics: We do not track how you use the app, what you sync, or when you use it.
• Device Information: We do not collect information about your devices beyond what's necessary for local network discovery.

What We DO Collect

• License Information: When you purchase a license, we collect your email address and payment information through our payment processor (Creem). This is only used for license delivery and support.
• Support Emails: If you contact us for support, we store your email correspondence to help resolve your issues.

How ClipSync Works

Local Network Only

ClipSync operates entirely within your local area network (LAN). When you copy something on one device, it's transmitted directly to your other paired devices over your local network. There are no cloud servers, no intermediaries, and no third parties involved in the sync process.

Encryption

All clipboard data transmitted between your devices is encrypted using AES-GCM encryption. The encryption keys are generated and exchanged during the pairing process and are never stored on any external servers.

Device Pairing

When you pair two devices, they exchange encryption keys directly. This pairing information is stored locally on each device and is never transmitted to external servers.

Data Storage

Local Storage Only

All data is stored locally on your devices:

• Sync History: Recent clipboard sync history is stored locally on each device for your convenience.
• Paired Devices: Information about your paired devices (device names, encryption keys) is stored locally.
• Settings: Your app preferences and settings are stored locally.
• License Key: Your license activation key is stored locally in encrypted form.

Third-Party Services

Payment Processing

We use Creem (creem.io) to process payments and manage licenses. When you purchase ClipSync, Creem collects your payment information and email address. Please refer to Creem's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.

No Analytics or Tracking

ClipSync does not use any analytics services, tracking pixels, or telemetry. We don't know how many times you've synced, what content you've synced, or how you use the app.

Data Security

• End-to-End Encryption: All synced content is encrypted before transmission.
• Local Network Only: Data never leaves your local network during sync operations.
• No Cloud Storage: We don't store your data on any cloud servers.
• Secure Pairing: Device pairing uses cryptographic key exchange to ensure only authorized devices can sync.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect or store your personal data (except for license information), there's minimal data to manage. However, you have the right to:

• Delete Your Data: You can delete all local data by uninstalling the app.
• Request License Information: Contact us to request information about your license purchase.
• Delete Your License: Contact us to request deletion of your license information from our records.

Children's Privacy

ClipSync is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
